Picturesque Drakia was first built by skilled workmen from Epirus in Western Greece about 1655 AD. Its central square is said to be the oldest on Pelion. The old mansior houses of Drakia attract a great deal of interest, such as the Archontiko Jriantafillou with its murals from the C 18th, carved doors and carved wooden ceilings.
